Using Drone Technology to Restore and Improve Service at Home and Abroad

We constantly implement innovative technologies that provide better and faster service for our customers, while enhancing the processes and approaches we take to complete the important work we do each day. As part of our efforts to help restore energy service to communities in Puerto Rico, our crews used drone technology to search through jungle-like terrain and identify and repair downed energy lines and other damaged infrastructure. These efforts helped keep our employees safe and saved hours, if not days, of work that would have otherwise prolonged the restoration of power to residents and businesses in some of the most remote areas of the island. Much like we used drones in Puerto Rico, every day we are using technology to help ensure the safety of our employees and customers, improve processes, and enhance the value of the services we provide.
