Giving back to the community is a year-round commitment for our employees. During the holiday season, we know the need for assistance can be even greater and the Autumn Acts of Kindness initiative helps make sure we are giving back when our communities need it most. This month-long focus on being thankful and helping others resulted in 12 volunteer events throughout November. Here are a few highlights:
Pet Food Drive – On Nov. 19, employees from the Pleasantville area volunteered with Atlantic County Animal Sheltered, playing with animals living in the shelter. In addition, our employees delivered pet food that was collected at our Pleasantville Operations facility.
March of Dimes – Throughout the month employees participated in making more than 20 no-sew baby blankets to be donated to local hospitals through the March of Dimes. This program provides blankets for pre-mature babies in the NICU as they gain strength to go home. The blankets provide comfort during an often stressful and challenging time for families.
Blood Drive – On Nov. 26, more than 30 employees donated blood through an American Red Cross blood drive hosted at our Mays Landing office. According to the Red Cross, the blood donations that day can save up to 90 lives.
As we move into December, Atlantic City Electric employees are continuing with the holiday spirit of giving. To learn more about our ongoing community initiatives, visit our Powering Communities webpage.
