Going the Extra Mile

It’s not the first time that Pepco has been confused with national pet retailer Petco; it is the first time that a hamster has entered the mix.

District resident Serenity, 8, had always wanted a pet. So she decided to write a letter to Petco, asking if she could have a hamster and promising to take good care of it. But the second grader unintentionally mailed the letter to Pepco Holdings’ headquarters where it reached Pepco employees Cornell Reddon of Customer Care and Clay Anderson of Customer Advocacy.

In the spirit of going the extra mile for customers every day, Reddon and Anderson decided to make Serenity’s wish come true.
